Some Fun Facts
CoCo Chanel was the first to make tanning “popular.” Up until then tanning was a sign of peasantry and the working class. People who work indoors are more likely to get melanoma than those who work outdoors in the sunlight. Areas of the body that are more prone to skin cancer are those that don’t get regular exposure to the sun. The “national skin cancer” statistics include ALL moles that have been removed for various reasons. Not just the moles that are actually considered cancerous. Tanning makes you happy! Your body releases endorphins while you’re tanning! :) People with SAD (seasonal affective disorder) are told to tan because there is a direct relation between sun exposure and depression. People with eczema are also told to tan because, for some reason, it helps alleviate the itching, redness, and severe dry skin associated with eczema. There is also a tanning lotion that is made for people with eczema called “Fierce Defense” I own this lotion and it makes my skin silky smooth! Smart Tanning Rocks! |
